"Would you like another lick of my flavour text?"
Üter offering Bart another lock of his "flavour text."
Anyone remember when the old polling place downtown was in the YWCA at 8th & Grand?
Indeed. Plus I expect many people over the years have taken lunch breaks from their downtown jobs to go vote. Even before moving downtown I almost always went to vote at the Election Office.
All that's been gained is a lot of free parking, IMHO. It's not centrally located so we've gone from being a few blocks away from nearly all city bus routes to just two.
I always went to the Election Office on Second Ave., and I'm betting many other downtown residents have done so as well.
Voting just got less easy for downtown Des Moines residents now that the Election Office has moved up to Euclid. None of the polling locations are within walking distance. Mine, for example, is up in Sherman Hill at 16th & Pleasant. I've never voted there.

From what I gather these costumes were not genital friendly.
It was a delight to see Denise again and bemoan the gentrification of our old haunts, like what people of our age are wont to do.
Solely because Denise Diaz (of Ritual Café & OG Java Joes fame) was coffee mongering at The Empire on Fourth St., I stopped by for a Mayan Mocha with espresso, Mexican chocolate, steamed milk, and whipped cream. It was delicious, not too sweet to start, and gets about par for sweetness near the end.
A 20 oz. Mayan Mocha at The Empire.
Maybe I should have waited another day after getting dual vaccines on Saturday before having a shot of gin. I was feeling depressed. I'm also full of soup.
A bottle of "St. George green chile" gin.
A PDF of the Table of Contents lists recipes for French, Thousand Islands, and a Coronation dressing. The latter sounds intriguing.

I don't recall the last time I enjoyed a taco bar. Or ever? Slapping taco meat on to a plate of eggs and tators at Ryan's doesn't count.
