Okay, to explain, these are "creepypasta" versions of my OCs;
_REDACTED (left) is based on Skull. It's a parasite taking his form, and has convinced itself that it is Skull, so overall, mostly friendly
Scaredy Cat (right) is based on Anna. No clue about her, tbh. Acts more like an actual animal ig?

The one on the left is a completely Red variant of Skull, mimicking the color palette found on Nintendo's Virtual Boy. His pupils are bigger and open, and 2 "tentacles" can be seen from out of his eyeholes.
The one on the right has a similar Design to that of Anna, although with a darker palette, more 'cat-like' neon green eyes, and more detail being put on the fur (with small, larger patches all around), hands and ears. She appears to have no mouth, and is engulfed in a dark shadow to her right side.

These 2 designs were made as "creepypasta" versions of both characters, having common design cliches and over-the-top 'scary' designs, while still appearing friendly at a first glance.

The thing abt "don't use black for shading" is that if you use black for soft shading it WILL indeed make your drawing look muddy as hell BUT if you use black for rlly dark and defined shadows it'll turn into the coolest thing anyone's ever made
