“Social Security has nothing to do with the deficit. It’s totally funded by payroll tax levied on employer/employee. If you reduce the outgo of Social Security, that money would not …reduce the deficit…Social Security has nothing to do with balancing a budget or lowering the deficit.”

Spain is on fire. Italy, Greece, Portugal — all burning. We have had summer fires before, but never like this. This is climate breakdown in real time. It is killing people, animals, and our future. DAMN the climate deniers. DAMN those who know and could do but do NOTHING www.bbc.com/news/article...
Wildfires rage across southern Europe as temperatures pass 40C
The heatwave has led to red alerts being issued in parts of Italy, France, Spain, Portugal and the Balkans.

Recently turned in a deeply researched draft of a book on What AI Actually Is and reader, this is 100% correct
"The problem with AI isn't that it can do your job. It can't. The problem with AI is that your MBA-brained boss's boss doesn't know how your job works and thinks AI can do your job at fractions of a penny on the dollar, and hears the siren song of 'maximize shareholder value'."

MBA-brain is real.
They’re literally advertising it.

My friend’s husband is suffering from rapidly progressing ALS. Blue Cross Blue Shield refuses to cover a wheelchair for him. It’s absolutely enraging.
Please share her post, even though it’s on X.

They deserve shaming!!!

The top 1% own 40% of stocks, while the bottom 40% of Americans own almost none.

Stop measuring the health of the economy by how well the stock market is doing, and start measuring it by how well working families can afford food, housing, healthcare and education.

I don't often lack words for what I'm seeing, but I am absolutely without words: TX-03 Congressman really just quoted Joseph Goebbels and then walked out of the committee like he hit a home run.
Oh just Texas Congressman Keith Self directly quoting Joseph Goebbels during a congressional hearing….what planet are we on smh

23andMe "announced Sunday it is headed to bankruptcy court to sell its assets. And 23andMe’s financial distress prompted California Attorney General Rob Bonta to issue an unusual privacy “consumer alert” about it Friday."

Ahead of Germany’s election, with anti-immigrant sentiment rising, they released viral videos showing life without immigrants.

History proves that when a country starts erasing certain people, it doesn’t end well.

Another green card holder with a clean criminal record and legal status was detained and is being held under terrible conditions. Fabian Schmidt (34) from Germany was detained at the airport in Boston and is being held indefinitely.

We need a whole new party. One that unites us in the basics.

The "Service Party" or something. One that values and supports all who serve the country and the people. That includes many fields: Veterans and current military and police, but also education, health care and environmental protection...

Customer Service is dead.

Profit is all that counts in all walks of life, it seems.

I feel like we're under constant attack and have to ward off attempts of companies to get as much out of us as they can, rather than the other way around.
