Not an LA peep, but if you're on a budget and not picky, any Ranch 99 Market hot line has them. Decent for a quick lunch. Not anywhere near the best, but adequate to satisfy cravings.
This!!!
Journalist Edward R. Murrow used his platform on CBS to criticize the witch hunts led by Senator Joseph McCarthy in the 1950s.

This is what real journalism should do — hold power to account, not capitulate to it.
@rubenerd.bsky.social re: Sorry for the dupe
I think I saw at least 4! I went back and forth a few times to confirm that my deja vue feeling had a factual basis!
I've not yet abandoned Xitter - I've kept it functionally "Read Only" for a while, but today I finally got sick of all the MAGAts and RWNJs posts that Xitter chooses to notify me about - so I just changed my notification settings over there so they can only notify me of posts from people I follow.
If it were me, I'd choose Austin, if only for the myriad opportunities to protest your Governor, AG, and Lege!
Slowly moving to rural 2 acres I bought 5 years ago. Company I ordered a manufactured (not quite) tiny home still hasn't shipped over 2 years after ordering!

Don't need to ask about you - given your Bluesky post!

Unless there's more you haven't volunteered?!?
Doing OK. Enjoying my current minimal use of social media, especially compared to the height of my Twitter #peregrination #twitfam #uppers/#inners days - MUCH calmer!

1/2!
Wow! You have a brownie tree?!? Can you send me a cutting?

"We don't need socialism. We need public-private partnerships."

After Zohran Mamdani's historic primary victory in New York, establishment Democrats are already copying his signature videos. Zeteo produced our own (fake) centrist Democrat featuring Zeteo senior producer @heycappello.bsky.social.
Here's my thought:

"It is pointless to ask someone to show "the courage of their convictions" when that same somebody has no convictions."

Now standing by for a response that dashes my hope that I'm actually the first to have said this.
@rubenerd.bsky.social Oh please DO wax lyrical about the PowerPC!

It's kinda crazy to remember that the mass protests today got their start (and name) from a tweet about congestion pricing

Really feel like I’m losing my mind: government OBVIOUSLY cannot punish an individual law firm for hiring someone it disfavors! It’s ludicrously unconstitutional and I feel like without a day of law school I could argue the case. And yet the best paid lawyers in the country are folding?
@digby56.bsky.social I found the picture at the top of your recent blog post, digbysblog.net/2025/03/26/g..., quite unsettling. The people pictured struck me viscerally as ... what's the right word here? ... plastic!

I could legitimately use the same sticker too.
FIFY:

I bought this before I realized Elon was bats#!t crazy.
@rubenerd.bsky.social Sorry but I don't get the "Stanley Parable" reference on your recent blog post. Oh wait! Did my own research (i.e web search) ... A video game. Explains my ignorance as I'm not a gamer in any way, shape, or form since D&D in college 45 years ago!
I'm already missing the daily opportunity to see @joyannreid.bsky.social in the few minutes before @chrislhayes.bsky.social on MSNBC. My schedule prevented watching her full show live, but 90% of the time I'd see the last few minutes!
Already listening to it in my podcast player!
Not planning to watch live as I can't stand paying attention to him either. I've got 1+ hours of You Tube vids in my "Watch Later" playlist ready to go instead. After he's done I'll check here on Bluesky where I expect the peeps I follow to post clips of the most egregious parts.
Won't be watching whatever happens in a few hours. The construction industry doesn't take MLK day off, so I'll just have my nose to the usual grindstone.

Talk to one Palestinian with any connection even tangentially to Gaza and your entire perspective will shift about many of the debates we have here in America.

Too many discussions have more to do with our domestic debates instead of the actual lived realities (and horrors) on the ground.
