Meals on US PDX. grassroots organization comprised of former chefs using their skills to combat food insecurity. They do a donation-based meal service 3 times a week. They also do a trans meal trains following gender-affirming surgery.

Equitable giving circle. Black femme led org that focuses on setting up BIPOC families with a CSA for a whole year. Also provide additional programing like free health screenings, cooking demos, etc. In the past they have done housing assistance as well.

Don’t assume they can “just go to a food bank”

Don’t assume they have a contingency.

Many people, especially with disabilities, either can’t get to a food bank or have special diets they can’t accommodate.

I think it was the pdx weekly recently that repeatedly used the phrase "no-nothing" (when in context they clearly meant "know-nothing") and I had to lie down.
