Bought a harmonica last week, going through some tutorials. Starting to get the hang of some of the very basics. Tried playing single notes and drawing hole 2 is so hard but videos and a lot of relaxation and practice and I can almost get a clean note (nearly as clean as other notes). Long way to go

Had the most frustrating time this morning trying to get a taxi. Booked at 9am to be somewhere at 10am. App estimated 10 mins for pickup, at that time of the morning it's a 25 min journey but I allowed 25 mins of buffer. Taxi was assigned and 2 mins away for 20 mins. Finally a taxi arrived at 9:55

First time trying this recipe for a Cinnamon Buttermilk Pie, I think the oven was too hot. Hopefully it will still be tasty

Made pasta today, the white sauce today, made the Ragu yesterday, assembled this afternoon, going into the oven shortly... It's been a long time since I tried making a lasagne from scratch, hope it works out... Check back later

Someone visited my parents (80 yrs old this year) from BRSK. He convinced them to sign for phone line/internet with them on the spot, being fitted tomorrow
Sounds a bit manipulative "BT can't cope" & "we're in the area Monday, so if you sign up quick we can fit you in"
Does anyone know about BRSK?

Trying something out, a cinnamon variant of Parkin... Self-raising flour, oats, light brown sugar, butter, golden syrup, a bit of nutmeg, a decent amount of cinnamon
Tried a little bit and it's quite tasty, may have to tweak the recipe a little

Trying out my Parkin recipe before the proper Parkin season comes along, might have made them a bit thick (took a lot longer to cook than expected) but I did mess up the recipe a bit

Wow the UK government wants us to delete old emails and pictures to "save water" that is used to cool data centres. I'm still trying to find out how many do I need to delete to match one shower?

I have a friend who is really into AI, I think I frustrate him by my complete and total lack of enthusiasm for it.
The ChatGPT 5 announcement has him very excited. I'm biting my tongue a lot right now

Sorry for the string of videos, but this is amazing and makes me wonder if this is what life could be like if we all just logged off the internet.

Right, so I was asked to take a look at this headline and as you can imagine, there is a lot wrong with it! 🙄
This was initially published in
@thetimes
and then picked up by the usual GB News, DM, Telegraph etc
Let’s take a look….👀

This is a concentration camp.
Call it Alligator Auschwitz, because that's what it is.
This is America. Never forget and never forgive the people who allowed this to happen.

It is 22 years ago today that my best friend, Nick Everton, died. He was 17 years old. Not much time to leave a mark on the world you would think.
But those of us who knew him came away irreversibly altered by even the short time we shared together....

Unpopular opinion: Ban opinion polls!
They become the news and distort the news.
Topic A is put cynically in the news (mostly by right wingers). A is polled as a big issue because it is in the news a lot. Politicians panic and introduce new policies which puts it back in the news
