Got inspired by the Frieren meme challenge and made a tutorial for rotating objects in 3D! This looks at turning a common rotation "mistake" into an intentional choice.

This is something that those of y'all with 3D experience probably understand pretty well!

Common rotation "misake"

mis-alignment of the axis being rotated (without reason)

When we rotate an object, its points of perspective will move too.

In the second graphic, the box is rotated and all the perspective points rotated with it. This box is still fully feasible within hte original perspective grid, HOWEVER the rotation has forced all the original perspective points to shift. The formerly visible green perspective point has completely shifted off the map.

However!
If we rotate an object along one singular axis, that perspective point WILL NOT MOVE

To put it plainly, if we rotate UP and ONLY UP, one of your 2-3 vanishing points will STAY IN THE SAME PLACE

this makes tracking the change in perspective easier.

It's easier and clearer if we keep an axis STATIC

I sort of wish y'all took this more seriously, because this attitude is a reinforcement of heterosexuality as a hierarchy. It's an acknowledgement and understanding that it's not enough to "be with" a woman, or even to father children.

They define manhood as exploitation, abuse, and dominance.
