Status update.
Camera: Fujifilm XT5 This might be the last photo I post of someone scrolling. I am developing a set of rough guidelines for my photography. A set of self-imposed constraints that will improve the quality of my shots (I think). They are an evolving work in progress that I will try to follow from now on: No children's faces as main subjects.

Writ large.
Latin prefix infra: below, within, under.Structure: to construct; the aggregate of elements of an entity in their relationships to each other. Good (and necessary) environmental stewardship is not just a policy choice; it is an ethical and moral imperative. Ethical behavior means more than simply reducing waste—it means dismantling the systems that create it. It means challenging the cultural glorification of consumption, rejecting the economic structures that demand perpetual growth, and embracing a vision of society that values repair, reuse, and regeneration over our present, throw-away mindset writ large. — Richard Daley. Alleyway coffee.
Camera: Fujifilm XT5 I know not why, but I keep finding myself wandering down dimly lit alleyways looking for something interesting to photograph. You well might advice that this is not such a smart move, for there be plenty of things found in said dimly lit alleyways that might not want to be photographed. Maybe so, but I would have never seen this off-street window-in-the-wall coffee (???) vendor.

When giant magpies attack!
Camera: iPhone 17 ProMax. There are photos I take whilst wandering around with my expensive (to me) Fujifilm camera trying to be creative and legitimately artistic and attempting to capture some sort of visual story, a frozen moment that touches spaces between the words…. ………and then there is this.

Be prepared. For the unpreparable.
So two nights ago I watched the movie House Full of Dynamite. It looked at the response (at both a human and military level) to a single nuclear missile attack on America. It was a good movie. Chilling, but good. And it got me thinking.

Pasta night.
So simple. Fresh pasta with tomato pesto and sun-dried tomatoes. Topped with asparagus and generous throwings of fresh parmesan. Straffings of ground pepper of course. The meaning of life is just to be alive. It is so plain and so obvious and so simple. And yet, everybody rushes around in a great panic as if it were necessary to achieve something beyond themselves.

Chasing light.
After my unsuccessful attempt at replacing the light seals on my Canon AE1 (see above for one example), I have performed a re-do. I mean how hard can it be to keep the light out? Right? After the rather meditative process of fiddling and tinkering around inside the back of the Canon, I have loaded a roll of 24 exposure Ilford HP4 that I found in my fridge.
