My gramma once told me to never say "in my opinion" because if you say something of course it's your opinion and I think that kinda explains my whole deal

I like these ideas, especially the day/night cycle. The internet as a place to be that itself is living. I loved when websites used to have holiday themes, those flash game sites that had limited time games and such
I hate talking about new games lmao. Feels like 80% of the people posting about Z-A are just parroting what some streamer said (I don't know for sure, they just have like, 3 canned talking points and it's very boring)
Likewise, a lot of video games are inspired by ttrpgs but it still feels largely verboten to have too obvious of inspiration from video games. I want people to really make me expand my idea of what a ttrpg could be!
Stormcrow? If so, yeah, a few cute things but whew, hella expensive. I think they shut down during COVID? Anyway yeah, this kinda twee queer stuff from major corporations gives me a pit in my stomach I can't quite explain
I at least have good enough taste to see Castle Crashers as the proto friendslop that it is
For 3D ones, I was a PlayStation 2 kid so had early exposure to DmC, KH and old GoW. I found Ghost of Yotei surprisingly good? Like, it's not DmC but it felt like Doom Eternal for 3D action games, needing to switch between the different answers quickly made my brain zappy.
Genuinely curious, totally fine to call me a lil baby who can't play real games, how do River City Girls and Shredders Revenge stack up for beatemup folks? I had a lot of fun with those 2 and I'm curious where they rank compared to others in your eyes. I'm liking Absolum too lol
It's hard to say they are really playing "D&D", like I said it's an improv game and it doesn't have rules until the combat happens
From my run ins with the cozycore folks: you're really playing improv theatre back and forth with no rules until it sorta makes sense to do a skill check. Combat comes up every couple of sessions and to their vague credit they are rarely dungeon delving, it's like fighting the evil lesbian commander
Ooooh very fair on Season of the Witch.

And I don't wanna oversell it, it is possible 4 just seems better cause of the movies surrounding it lol. At the very least, it's competent tho
Friday the 13th 4! A series that is real stinkers until they suddenly make a decent one and then back to stinkers.

Prey, from the Predator series.

Depends on how ya wanna define it (could be a reboot which might disqualify), but the newer Halloween trilogies first one is pretty good!
To give some vague but not serious justification, the chanbara revenge movies it is attempting to emulate often have hilariously odd openings. It does open effectively the same as Lady Snowblood (woman who has been seeking revenge decides today's the day for some reason)
I think Ghost of Yotei does some of the best out of cutscene/dialogue storytelling I've seen from triple AAA in quite a while (how it plays with attack signals, enemy health bars, choice of weaponry, there's so much) but its first 2 or so hours is really baffling bad compared to the rest
It's crazy how none of these folks ever suggest the actual things to make a political difference: attend boring weekly/monthly meetings where you have a bookclub about theory and go to city hall meetings and be annoying. It's way more fun to LARP about being an operator at grandma protests
There's sort of a local one of those, they call it a Stitch and Bitch on the posters but people come with whatever. It seems like it goes down well!
And as the great Red Green taught, nothing a little duct tape won't fix (should you need to break the plastic)
The crux of the emotional labour argument is your last bit there. It IS normalized that a barista/bartender/taxi driver/service work generally deal with some real shitheads in a nice and polite way you wouldn't expect other fields to have to do.
Ah, rookie mistake, you gotta make it a meta progression upgrade to have 4 choices instead of 3.
I think our weird perceptions of civilizations are also affected by how we teach ancient history in grade school. What we think of as "ancient Egypt" was like, a few thousand year period and "Greece" and "Rome" went through many permutations and statehoods
They've been like this for a long time, way before AI. Sometimes it's in a charming way, sometimes it really feels like their head is up their own ass (like this time).
This is such a Grant Morrison ass opinion that I can't even say I'm surprised, in my heart I knew they'd say some shit like that lol. Has Moore said anything about AI yet or has nobody tracked him down in the wilderness of greater Northampton?
Growing up in a very ardent feminist household of outspoken women allowed me to judo flip a lot of the trans women brain worms I see my sisters struggle with. After a few years of transition my problems melted into the same problems all women face and it honestly helped my dysphoria a lot
Like sorry but feeling insufficient in the face of overbearing Beauty Standards propaganda is... a common issue for women actually
@theonion.com and @thebeaverton.com are here! What other news do you need?

(I just followed a bunch of folks from The Old Place and after like a week of following people they regularly retweeted I had a decent news feed. I kinda prefer this more curated feed tbh)
