Like many, we’ve been budgeting and trying not to eat out, as my son and I have both been unemployed this year (I just accepted a job offer). But we want to support the amazing immigrant-owned restaurants we are so fortunate to have in the Twin Cities.

Ready to scream. It took 3 months to get my adult son enrolled in Medical Assistance. We just received a notice that his coverage is being terminated, claiming we failed to provide proof of citizenship. I mailed a photocopy of his passport months ago to the address that was provided.

First Valentine’s Day with my partner. We exchanged gifts. And each got a thing for the other’s cats. Purrrrfect.

AuDHD strikes again! I am incredibly near-sighted but also impulsive. Some day I will remember to NOT clip my toenails unless I am first wearing my glasses. Order of operations is important.

Maya is one of my favorite spots. Amazing food, kind people. Their storefront being dark these past weeks has hurt.

But tonight, there was a light on Central. The smell of something incredible in the air.

They’re opening tomorrow for the first time in weeks.

Let's show up for them.

Today in cats. Our handsome orange tabby, Hajime, claiming my son’s chair while he was away. And our adorable Gigi lending me moral support as I prepared for a job interview.

I was attempting to unwind by watching some Olympics replay of figure skating but the bad cover medley is too much. Unpleasant renditions of Sweet Dreams into Eleanor Rigby into Everybody Wants to Rule the World. I can't.

Not that it would be okay to do this to an undocumented immigrant either but THIS GUY IS A LEGAL IMMIGRANT and also his lawyer hand delivered his medication and they REFUSED TO GIVE IT TO HIM.

Enraging! How do ANY of these people live with themselves?
A man taken into custody in Rochester Thursday by federal immigration agents and now held at the Whipple Federal Building in the Twin Cities is a recent organ transplant recipient who is without his needed anti-rejection medication, state Rep. Kim Hicks tells MPR News.

My caucus is having an after party at the VFW. But I am beat and have a job interview tomorrow. I need to rest up.

Attempting to convince my adult kid to caucus with me tonight but that's a non-starter. Earlier I made vegan rice krispie bars. If I'd been thinking clearly, I would have lured him over there with the bars but he's already eaten at least two at this point.

Benefits from my former employer ran out on December 31st. I spent all of January uninsured. But my new insurance plan through MNsure kicked in today. Just in time for my neurology check-in tomorrow. We need universal healthcare and universal basic income in this country.

My partner joined my son and on I an outing to the Art Shanty Projects today. It was my partner's first time there. We saw several of their friends and mine. I am thankful for public art, as always. But it hits different this winter.

My upstairs neighbor began vacuuming at 7:30am on a Sunday. Along with repeatedly picking up and heavily dropping objects that sound like bowling balls.

In a scathing order, a judge orders the release of 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos and his father.

“Philadelphia, September 17, 1787: "Well, Dr. Franklin, what do we have?" "A republic, if you can keep it."
With a judicial finger in the constitutional dike, It is so ORDERED.”

Today’s concert of solidarity & resistance @first-avenue.com was quite a thing. I attended with two of my closest friends. We heard Jesse Ventura was in the building but didn’t see him. Ike Reilly opened with his son Shane.

While waiting in line for the First Ave show. A news crew team looked us up and down but decided to interview the dudes behind us instead. Not these short weirdos.

@lookitup.baby A pic of us in the olden days just popped up in my feed. I wound up wearing those overalls throughout my pregnancy because there weren't decent maternity clothes in the 90s.
