But would I go to a book signing yelling about it? Nah. Take that energy up w/the man wasting money on a ballroom. I don't agree with NOT voting for the better candidate, but she is annoyingly cryptic on this topic outside of bringing up October 2023. I understand both sides but STILL wish she won.

Definitely in the middle on this. Even in "107 Days," she was STILL talking about October 2023 and would not acknowledge the starvation and roads blocked in 2025. With that said, she was a better choice than Trump so I voted for her. But even as a private citizen, she stays dodging the topic.

I have lost count of the number of menopause ads I have seen (need about a decade more for that), but I would rather see those versus these NONSTOP Nick Cannon backyard commercials. I am beyond tired of hearing about Trinidadian boyfriends from Trinindad James.

This is an exact encapsulation of why I moved to Bluesky.

No amount of handwringing in the Atlantic about how I owe some eternal Promethean suffering to the discourse is going to make me stay on a site I hate, that stopped doing anything for me professionally years ago.

Well – no. Bluesky may or may not be, as one centre-right friend who felt unwelcome put it, “self-righteous island”. But the idea that’s why we went is nonsense. That I’ve largely stopped posting on a site that’s done more to shape my career and social circle than the rest of the internet combined is less about avoiding rival opinions (I love arguing with people who are wrong!) than with the fact the site simply became unusable. It stopped generating the things (good jokes, interesting debate, clicks) I wanted; it became extremely good at generating the things (racists, pornbots, racist pornbots) I did not.

This line of thinking boggles my mind. It is way too easy to blame the media instead of grown ass sexist, racist, Islamophobia, xenophobia voters who CHOSE this. I saw the same programming they did. Worked for a few newspapers. Still DID NOT VOTE for Trump any of these THREE times.

The media did not walk anybody hand in hand to a ballot box or to fill in a mail-in ballot. This goofy ass presidency came about on its own. We all saw the same shit. Some were just gleefully excited to see Black people, Brown people and poor people fail so they could get ahead.
