Springfield’s GLO Center is getting a little help from Grammy Award Winner Chappell Roan through her new nonprofit. The Midwest Princess Project aims to “uplift trans youth and LGBTQ+ communities through action, care, and connection."

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man who was found dead with a possible gunshot wound in a ditch north of Springfield over the weekend. David Costlow was 50 years old.

William “Bill” Nesbitt, the founder of Nesbitt Construction and supporter of several charitable causes in the Ozarks, died Wednesday, Oct. 22, at the age of 82.

Mother-daughter duo Mui and Linh Neal has opened Banh Mi & Me on East Battlefield. The shop features several versions of the Vietnamese sandwich as well as coffee and noodles. They source many ingredients locally, including the bread.

The Springfield City Council held its first public hearing on Oct. 20 on a proposal to develop 510 housing units on 48 acres at Division Street and LeCompte Road. The majority of the speakers were opposed to the development.

West Springfield will soon have a new breakfast spot. Hatch & Harvest Cafe is taking over the space that was previously home to Missouri Mike's. It's the first solo venture for Donny Veliu, but he's no stranger to the Springfield scene.
