I get why people are hesitant to leave the communities they built over years when there aren’t many alternatives and all of them seem to have similar problems and are heading in the same direction. You can’t outrun the problem when fascism is spreading and spaces are consolidating.

im finally out of my month+ long stay in the hospital, it turns out however that bills and supplies for cancer treatment require money, also regular bills don't stop. if you have the means to share or donate it would certainty help a lot.

The sloppy reporting on this all around has been appalling. But you’ve been making claims about him that by your own admission you don’t have enough knowledge of his output to back up. This is just more fuel on the fire you claim to want put out.

You don’t get to make the claim he “argued with civility,” then claim you don’t know his views enough to defend or condemn them, and THEN claim this is really all about journalistic integrity.

The misattributed quotes are bad but it’s disingenuous to claim that’s all you’ve been talking about here.

It's REMARKABLY easy to figure out the views of a prolific podcaster. Misattributed quotes are unfortunate and just another sign of our declining journalistic standards, but nobody needs to rely on the NYT to figure out where Kirk stood on things. He was an open book, not an inscrutable black box.
