Trump is now giving $40 billion in aide to Argentina. A reminder, USAID was cut completely from the federal budget and the department was shut down by DOGE, and as a result hundreds of thousands of people around the world have died. The total budget for USAID was $35 billion.

NOT-SO-FUN FACT: Instead of supporting domestic farmers, Trump is now DOUBLING the taxpayer-funded bailout for Argentina, bringing the total to a whopping $40 billion. That’s nearly TWICE the cost of extending the ACA tax credits for an entire year!

Yesterday this blog sought to make sense of the decision to drop the Chinese Spying prosecutions on the information then available, and averred that both the positions of the government and the Crown Prosecution Service did not make sense.

Now the government has published three witness statements, the picture now changes. The government’s position now makes sense, and the CPS looks as if it made at least one serious mistake and possibly another.
