Yes, 100% of the time that it is possible. I know it’s hard but we have to try the best we can to protect ourselves and disabled people. I have never stopped masking since 2020, I can’t afford to with lupus. We aren’t in “normal times” and, trust me, you do not want to be disabled in this climate.

You should be concerned about the rate of authors leaving publishing. Especially from marginalized communities. This year I have seen so many authors just pack it up and go. And it's only getting worse.

I was once working in a “progressive” writing center at my college that let me go illegally while telling me I was on official medical leave when I got lupus. Ironically when I worked there they made me attend an 8 hour disability justice seminar. Smdh.
