I can't wait for the letters to the editor after this one. 😁

Today I've randomly received two calendar invites from companies I've never heard of. Is this the new spam?

AIOs starting to trend down? Very interesting data from @alsoasked.com: An analysis of 24 million PAA questions shows a significant drop in AI-generated answers by Google in the last 4 weeks. Was this an experiment? Do users prefer real website answers over AIOs?

If you ever get a chance to visit the Pearl Harbor museum/memorial in Honolulu, it is worth every moment. Emotional, powerful, educational, inspirational...all of it and more.

I have a speaking gig coming up.

The organizers asked me to choose a walk-out song, not knowing that I'm the kind of music fan who must now analyze the first :10 of all 1,943 "liked" songs on my Spotify.

I will need every moment between now and my session to choose one. I go on stage next June.

It's crazy how much damage social media algorithms do.
Our new study in @science.org built an LLM-powered browser extension to rerank social media feeds without requiring platform cooperation. In a preregistered 10-day field experiment (N=1,256), we found that algorithmic ranking can both raise and lower levels of affective political polarization.

Dan makes good points in here....
The typical first-time home buyer is now 40 years old? I'm not buying it. The National Association of REALTORS® conducted a survey and almost nobody responded. I don't dispute the results. I dispute the method.

Ryan's post got me thinking...

I stopped doing traditional linkbuilding 2010 and shifted to digital PR. Got my dermatologist client mentioned in USA Today, Glamour, Woman's Day, and a dozen others.

Never did care about DA.

Maybe that's why it all seems like SEO to me today, not AEO/GEO/etc.
it's amazing to me how many SEOs can't see past Links and domain authority. there's a whole world out there that they haven't discovered yet, and that world is rapidly moving away from them.

Twitter pays people based on engagement (views, retweets, comments, etc). It appears that many MAGA accounts are based abroad and they use AI technology to generate low-effort rage bait.

My guess is that this will get worse as AI tech improves. For instance, fake videos of minorities doing crime.
