Post boom, second doom. Stealing cake to eat the moon. Writes and edits - Doctor Who, Hammer horror, Sherlock Holmes, Judge Dredd (etc). Available for hire.
I tell you what really pisses me off. I BUY NEW CDS ALL THE TIME, because they're BETTER. I use Spotify for running and for background noise in the office, because it's more convenient. Hundreds of thousands of people do exactly the same. We pay the artist AND use Spotify. It's not one or the other.
Yes, Spotify isn't great, but it's still better than HOLIER THAN THOU TYPES WHO JUST LOVE SCOLDING. I mean FFS

30 YEARS AGO TODAY: the Smash Hits Poll Winners Party is opened by Reeves & Mortimer covering Hawkwind's Silver Machine. No explanation, no lyrical changes unless a cameo by the riff from Day Tripper counts, never released, and they weren't hosting it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=EGeb...

Barry Letts was Cherry-Garrard. But was he there when Johnny Mills was lighting his farts? We need to know.
Happy 77th anniversary of the release of Scott of the Antarctic, whose filming in the Swiss Alps caused frostbite among the crew. Thankfully, Sir John Mills was on hand to... er, set light to his farts

For the first time I literally decades, I find myself outside Central Hall Westminster on a Saturday morning. But it's not the middle 80s and there is no comic mart, alas 😢

So that's decided. Turns out Excalibur is the reason I've been looking for to buy a 4K player. Now I come to think of it, it was the reason I bought my first DVD player, too.
Arrow's Feb slate includes EXCALIBUR and WESTWORLD in 4K! @thedigitalbits.bsky.social

After it was mentioned in the episode I had to share this - a highlight of my 2000 AD collection - prog 232 with Bubbly gum still attached and with greasy stain.

Buy magazines.
Many editors and writers have brought their love for Star Wars to the pages of Star Wars Insider magazine in its various incarnations, and deserve much thanks for their amazing work – but, sadly, in this instance,…

Enjoyed listening to The Iron Legion from @bigfinish.bsky.social adapted by @senrabnala.bsky.social. Thought the added elements worked really well (particularly enjoyed Doug and Viv) and Tom Baker seemed to be having a good time.

So I went for my usual weekend 12k round Oxford this morning. Listening to a podcast about Aleister Crowley, the Great Beast himself. You know, just because. Coming out of Uni Parks, there's a humpback bridge you can't run up or down, so I pause there. And I swear, I swear this is how far I'd run:

Stranger Things. People keep telling me it's absolutely my sort of thing and I'd love it, which automatically trips my contrary switch.
Inspired by a post I just saw in which someone admitted they hadn’t seen a single episode of Friends nor the film Love Actually… what cultural hole do you have that’s a bit weird for your generation?

I’ll go first: I haven’t seen Dirty Dancing.
