Evening Bluesky.

After a week of cold, miserable rain, we got a lovely rainbow to go into the weekend with.

Hope it's a good sign.

Add in a decent subsidized housing program with mental health support and the homeless problem would be positively solved. Right now we are wasting so much on hostile architecture, bloated police budgets etc.
“I think the federal basic income program could be a nation-building program.”

We've seen study after study showing universal basic income works -- cheaper, more effective than current income programs. Doesn't disincentivize people from working. Reduces crime. Improves health. UBI now.
Ireland is locking down basic income for artists. Could Canada follow suit? | CBC Radio

Evening Bluesky.

Went to Roy Thompson Hall last Saturday for the Stardew Valley Symphony of Seasons with my daughter. Amazing show. Never been to in orchestra before.
Behind the stage there was a huge organ and you can stop giggling now.

So Elon is losing his mind over a 3 year old Netflix cartoon that was canceled after 2 seasons.

Oh, maybe if he brings enough attention to it, they'll bring it back 😏

The government can't figure out the root cause of the homeless crisis. Let's see...
-defunding Mental Healthcare
-removing Rent Control
-canceling the subsidized housing program
...
...
Nope, I agree. It's a mystery.

Morning Bluesky.

Saw this lovely creature on the ground at the train station. Snapped this pic before putting it higher so it wouldn't get stepped on. Praying Mantis are so cool.

One of the things that makes me a little melancholy about the end of summer is the later sunrises. It is 6:09 am. here, and the sun is just starting to peek out. A few weeks ago it was up and shining around 5 am.
I really understand how people are affected by seasonal changes.
