Hello to all my new mutuals & followers!
If you don't know me, I'm Seán, a cartoonist and story artist!
I'm releasing my new book at the end of the month, Brotherhood Part 1, after a successful Kickstarter!
You can still grab a pre-order copy if you'd like: www.kickstarter.com/projects/sea...
Loved loved loved Tsushima, looking forward to getting around to this! Looks stunning
Life has been over-whelming to say the least for the past few months! Feels hard to keep up with everything, not to mention friends and family 🫠
But a lot of things are going very well so no complaints, just sometimes it would be great to have a pause button for life 😅

In spite of yesterday’s rain, the creators behind ‘Run Home, Little Fox’ braved Dublin’s chilly streets to sign copies of their wonderful new picture book.

Signed copies will now definitely warm the hearts and spirits of many readers, grown or young 🦊

You see everything is okay if you say it's rural. Even the most barbaric sport of the gentry
🗣️ “If a fox is being ripped limb from limb and is dying a slow and agonising death - how can you say you abhor animal cruelty?”

🗣️ “These are rural pursuits and have been for many, many years.”

Heather Humphreys discusses her support for fox hunting and hare coursing.

"calls into question, why are the Government not doing something about it?"
Unfortunately the answer is easy. Managing floods like this would need landscape scale action including rewilding rivers and rewetting land and the government are fundamentally opposed to anything positive for nature
Farmers along the Shannon Callows have said their livelihoods are being destroyed by rising water levels in the area, which takes in large stretches of land in counties Galway, Offaly, Roscommon and Westmeath

Either an AI or written by someone young and trying to do their best but showing their lack of experience; their reliance on repeating facts and important sounding language make me wonder
Irish living in Finland; In the broader culture there seems to be quite a fear of young Finns preferring to speak in English. You can hear quite a bit of Finn-glish walking around. But I would assume any increase in books is a positive, with immigrants such as myself skewing numbers
Secondly, I'll be giving in-depth Storyboard Masterclass. This will cover the basics of storytelling in animation, with lots to learn for both students, enthusiasts, and film buffs alike!
I lectured in 2 universities this year and I'll try get as much of that info into the hour as possible!
The 2 events I'm taking part in are both on Saturday 11th of October:
1st I’ll be taking part in a panel discussion on “Breaking Into The Industry” with 2 incredible animation professionals, Roísín Sinai Kelly and Nicky Gogan. It'll be moderated by the National Talent Academy's Ronan O'Toole!
Super happy to announce I’ll be taking part in 2 events for this year’s Offline Film Festival! ✨

If you're unaware, Offaly has an incredible film festival based in the town I went to school in, Birr, and it's been bringing incredible films and creators to the midlands for the past 16 years!

**DCAF FUNDRAISER!!!** Our very talented committee members have donated their time for a 5-min portrait fundraiser to help cover the costs of running DCAF in 2026. Prices from €5 (or donate what you can).

How it works below!
I got an iPad for digital drawing 2 years ago. Absolutely rubbish device for anything else, but drawing on Procreate is a breeze. I'm android through and through but for this I think it's worth considering

The new tariffs are going to hit artists particularly hard if it means losing customers in the US, so I'd ask Irish people to please consider buying local, from Irish makers, where at all possible. Support that means little to a huge business makes a massive difference to small creators. We need ye.
ℹ️ Information from An Post relevant to Irish artists selling to the US - still no clarity elsewhere about what the charges will be, time will tell.

Um. Oh.
The U.K. Online Safety Act was (avowedly, as revealed in a recent High Court case) “not primarily aimed at protecting children” but at regulating “services that have a significant influence over public discourse.”
This looks fabulous!
A beautiful retelling of a beloved Irish legend - out this September!

Thank you to the Arts Council for their help in making this publication possible.

Spent some time putting together a fresh Storyboard Showreel!

Featuring my work for companies like Nickelodeon, Disney, AppleTV+ and more, it's quite exciting to see it all put together =]

This. You are helping to promote technology whose purpose is to rob everything of its individuality and artists of their incomes, to serve the purposes of the very people you’re probably protesting against. Please stop.
Saying this with as much love as possible, but please stop using AI generated graphics for activism. Plenty of artists willingly donate their time and work designing for activists, and always have. It's not necessary to step on an increasingly struggling group in order to promote worthy causes.
It looks soooo good; the texture in everything! Also such a stark contrast against most film sets which are just green screens these days
I saw #Superman last night!

Really enjoyed it, especially the general tone of the movie and its focus on kindness and trying to be a good person. i had a few quibbles with the pacing but Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner was fantastic.

Anyways, you'll never guess what's on the drawing board..!

And people can't quite understand why Irish people support Palestine.
this is one of the worst crimes in human history and the entire global north and all of us in it share the responsibility
