My whole heart to everyone who supported me to keep going with this even in the nightmare this month became. Your generosity means 200km later I've added $2,500 to this humaning bigger than itself - this tangible shout that the world is capable of more love than hate, even now, even now.

Day 30 of ##SweatWithPride. A kind friend gave me 2 hrs respite from 24/7 cares to run. I didn't make my 30 June 20km goal, but ran until dark came at 14km. Today's run was for every name I've carried, but also specially for David (via @dejanajuk.bsky.social) & for @missyerem.bsky.social's beloveds

Pls forgive no replies to msgs/mails/posts - all day every day & late into night at hosp w loved one, or long drive to/from. My few word-spoons get spent posting updates for Sweat with Pride, which was a promise, and there's just nothing left over beyond exhaustion so deep I'm a ghost

Day 22 of #SweatWithPride - tender privilege to carry 2 beloveds for sponsor Sarah @palimpsest22.bsky.social

The coast was winterwild & lovely. I left an embodiment of those names in that fresh cold light, & asked it to live in them. As I did, a *huge* queen bumble alit on my shirt - a blessing.

On today's #SweatWithPride run, I carried two precious names into winter solstice dawn for friend & sponsor @fionadoris.bsky.social.

It was dark for the first 2km, then the shortest day's fire found the hills' back, and mine. The light was extraordinary.

I left the names with old guardians.

Mānawatia a Matariki, m'loves ✨️

Difficult hospital time tonight, home late & heart in bits.
But this morning, I felt so lucky to run 10km. carrying a very precious name into the peace of Matariki. Big love to #sweatwithpride sponsor Val Little for asking me to carry the inestimable Georgina Beyer today. I'm not sure anyone could do her fire full justice, but I thought about her the whole way, her wicked wit, her deep real wisdom, and the legacies she left us - being he whole self in the public eye, an early lighthouse for trans people in Aotearoa, and still large in the minds of many who might otherwise have fallen for the current rhetoric and stereotyping.
So on today's run I went off-track, to find the plaque to Kupe I knew was hidden in the harakeke, and listened for Georgina there. I swear someone laughed behind me. The last random song that played on this run was Madonna's Live To Tell. That felt right. We did. We do. We are, and we will, and we'll never stop.
