MAST: Mutual Aid Self/Social Therapy

MAST is a non-hierarchical therapy structure. It is a powerful tool for building relationships in our communities, and for navigating the traumas and frustration that are common among us. Having more substantial emotional understandings of each other, and having a space to publicly explore our frustrations and trauma, allows our communities to better withstand and plan against the powers that oppress us. This workshop will consist of a description and conversation about MAST and how it is practiced, and an open MAST session that will take 60 minutes of the time. MAST is practiced in groups of three, so the participants will separate into groups of three to practice MAST during this time, before the room reconvenes to have a second group conversation to debrief the whole process.

Deconstructing Settler Socialism Book Talk

Book talk on Historical Sedition's first original book "Deconstructing Settler Socialism: Anarchism and the Internationals in the Wild West." This book sheds light on the 19th century origins of anarchism, socialism, and the labor movement geographically rooted in the settler-colonial genocidal context of the so-called "wild-west." It highlights Pacific Northwest and broader West Coast history by critically examining cooperative land projects on freshly stolen land, racial exclusion in the early labor movement, and how these histories impacted the broader early splits between "red and black" marxian socialists and anarchists. Talk will be followed by Q&A and discussion.

A Clean Hell: Anarchy and Abolition in America's Most Notorious Dungeon

Eric King plans to give a talk to promote his new book, A Clean Hell. A Clean Hell offers readers an up close and personal look at life in the most restrictive prison in the United States. After defying the odds and beating the government in a crooked criminal trial, Antifascist prisoner Eric King found himself inside the ADX for eighteen months at the end of a ten-year bid. In telling his story of his trial and life inside this underground supermax, Eric vividly captures what life inside the ADX is like for both the most infamous prisoners, as well as those prison rebels you have never heard of. Whether you're facing time in a federal prison, have clients or loved ones locked inside the ADX, are concerned about the United States prison machine, or are an abolitionist combating the carceral state, A Clean Hell presents a clear picture of survival under the most restrictive levels of state repression. It is both an indictment of American atrocities and an invitation to fight back.

Full Circle: A Life in Rebellion Book Presentation
-in the Green Room

Full Circle is the story of a life in rebellion, as told by Ben Morea. From his beginning growing up with jazz and heroin in a New York City ghetto and his turn to radical art and militant politics -- which culminated in the late-'60s push for "total revolution" vis-a-vis the notorious collectives Black Mask and Up Against the Wall Motherfucker -- to the lesser-known years following his disappearance into the wilderness and the path that led eventually to animism and his adoption into a Native American spiritual tradition, this epic narrative spans the whole of Morea's life from 1941 to the present, reflecting on his remarkable experiences of struggle and it's changing contours over eighty years. Based on a series of conversations that began in 2020, it represents a monumental effort of transmission, that seems to draw insight and inspiration from this life-long revolutionary journey and pass it on for the generations to come.

This is how the government analyses a community to wage psychological warefare. Figure 02: Application of Information-Related Capabilities to Achieve Influence from Joint Publication 3-13, Information Operations.

The center shows how information flows in both directions from Key Influencers to Mass Audiences to Vulnerable Populations to Key Influencers.

Each group has a table pointing to it with 2 columns: Activity (collect, process, disseminate, and act) and Dimension (physical, informational, physical, and cognitive). The arrows pointing to the groups of people are labeled "IRCs," information-related capabilities. The arrows pointing to the tables from outside are labeled "means."

The information environment around this core cloud of impressionable groups includes 3 smaller clouds: Informational Dimension, Physical Dimension, and Cognitive Dimension.

ICE is doing a hell of a lot of harm in the Chicago area *right now.* I don’t mean to trivialize the national guard stuff, it absolutely is an irresponsible escalation, but the guard-centric convo around this really does understate what’s going on without any guardsmen.
