Remember our lesser nighthawk patient we shared a few weeks back? We’re thrilled to report they’ve been released!

After 64 days in care, this tiny bird made an incredible transformation — arriving at just 4 grams and leaving at a healthy 52 grams.

A huge WIN for animals! Gov. Gavin Newsom signed all three bills in the “Stop The Puppy Mill Pipeline” legislative package designed to reduce consumer fraud and animal abuse in pet sales! This marks a huge stride toward a more compassionate, humane future for animals across California!

We have quite the unusual patient — a tiny lesser nighthawk! This little bird was admitted on Aug. 3 and weighed just 4 grams, making them the smallest nighthawk to enter our care. Lesser nighthawks are uncommon patients for our team which makes the opportunity to help even more special.
