As I watch the desperate posts of talented, hardworking people losing their homes, begging for help to feed their kids, trying frantically to catch any work… I can’t help but feel that those who steered our industry into this storm need to face similar consequences to the Icelandic bankers of 2008.

I'm no Nigel Richards but I'm kicking the proverbial out of the "very hard" CPU opponent in Classic Words Plus. Might have to start playing "extremely hard" soon... It's a disappointing game if I'm not scoring in the high 300s.

Just banned my first Steam forum user for getting belligerent because i wasn't keen on discussing why i wasn't fixing a cosmetic bug in a 6 year old (different) game they bought for dirt cheap from a grey market. 🤷♂️

It's impossible to overstate the influence Masquerade had on my childhood and my descent into a livelihood (barely) of puzzling and puzzle game dev.
I have an Early Access release coming up on Monday and the one thing I am nervous about, or at least not looking forward to, is the Steam forums. Sure, I am going to use my Discord mainly instead, but that won't mean *those* types of users won't be on the Steam forums posting rot.

My sister wrote a little limerick on our dad's 80th birthday card. It was pretty rough but a nice gesture, I suppose.
Then she proudly proclaimed ChatGPT "wrote" it for her, and now it isn't even a gesture. It's just trash. Badly written trash, at that.

The whole family is now part of the current flu epidemic statistics. Pretty miserable, but would have been moreso if we hadn't taken the vaccine. Be prepared people (in Japan), it's probably coming for you too.

I have a pixel 8 since last year because my pixel 4 got smashed. That was the only reason and the 8 was the oldest, cheapest model available to purchase. Zero desire to upgrade.
The story about people holding electronics longer is interesting. My Steam Deck is years old and I still love it. I used a Pixel 8 and don't even know what the newer models have added and don't care. There's no reason to upgrade. No one is making anything different or cool.

Is it my imagination or is there (even) more right-wing propaganda on TT's fyp these days? I try to keep my feed as clean as i can with aggressive blocking but it seeps through anyway like the toxic sludge that it is.

It's so scary being a parent, having your child live in a world where CEOs openly talk about how some kids are just going to have to get hurt so that more kids can get addicted to gambling so they can continue to grow their wealth and somehow enough people nod along with this. Crazy. Smh 😓
