This one’s for all the fans of Tudor fenestration. From the upstairs room of the wonderful Golden Cross pub (1583) a short cobblestone walk from Coventry Cathedral. Great place to hold a meeting!

Oil & gas companies pivoting from petroleum as fuel to petroleum as plastics have “spent millions of dollars lying to the public, trying to get them to believe that [you can] just recycle your plastic and everything will be fine,” Beyond Plastics president and former EPA official. Sadly, it's a lie.
The Fossil-Fuel Industry Has a Plan to Drown Earth in Plastic
To keep profits rolling in, oil and gas companies want to turn fossil fuels into a mounting pile of packaging and other plastic products

Quick FYI for architects of crimes against humanity: a legal pardon is forgiveness that releases an individual from the penalties & consequences of a crime. Netanyahu can't be pardoned if he won't admit guilt. He's seeking condonation, affirmation, an immoral and undeserved free pass for bad deeds.
Netanyahu Requests Pardon from Israeli President After Trump Push: Report
The reported request comes weeks after U.S. President Donald Trump also asked Israeli President Isaac Herzog to pardon Benjamin Netanyahu.

This isn’t just evil, it’s plain murder.

Trump to pardon ex Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez who is serving 45 years in prison for drugs and gun trafficking.
For someone who claims to want to keep our borders safe from drugs, Trump keeps pardoning a lot of drug dealers.

The British press poses a genuine and profound threat to our democracy and our shared prosperity. They howl out their right wing, wealth-protecting agenda and want Farage as PM. We will all pay a very high price for their selfish greed and their utter indifference to social inequality.

Trump and cronies don't give a rats ass for the lives harmed by drugs or those killed by the traffickers in the US or other countries. They just want to ensure the "right people" stay in power and the money continues to flow into their pockets.

Here's a tip for UK politics watchers: Look for an uptick in Green Party membership starting about now. Should be evident in the numbers by early in the New Year. (On social media I've seen several people who, like me, are dropping Labour in favour of the Green after seeing the Bigly Abysmal Budget)

Taking bets on who this was? I’ve got my guesses for both of them tbh.
I heard a story about a female academic giving a paper at the IHR who, after receiving a long and aggressive question from a senior male professor, simply leaned back with her hands behind her head and replied “Oh, do fuck off.”
One of my colleagues went to a seminar at Berkeley and when someone asked a question Derrida brushed it off saying ‘what you ask may be important but it is not interesting’.
