I went back to my alma mater, West Virginia University, and I read from my book. When I was an MFA student attending readings, I said, "Someday it's going to be me up there." Yesterday, it was. This is a picture of me this morning standing outside of Colson Hall holding my book. #debutfiction

She's amazing. And she doesn't need an Academy Award to prove she's successful. Still, I hope she gets one--next year.

Excited to have helped write a poem for this issue by providing the "flame" for another poet's "spark." #poetry #writing It was fun to participate in this unique collaborative process. #literaryjournals #writingcommunity #poetsofbluesky

Cover art by Emily Cai. Spark to Flame’s Issue Four cover art is of Zurich old down buildings over a calm river, with an older gentleman leaning over a bridge on the left. Colors are calm and muted.

It is so rough out there. It seems like most of the people making money from writing are those already famous, and often those people are famous for something else and may not actually be doing their own writing.
