A sad irony in Washington, D.C., where West Virginia National Guardsmen were shot today. Six days ago, a court ruled their deployment was illegal, but stayed the order pending appeal. My heart goes out to these public servants and their families. oag.dc.gov/sites/defaul...

We have said consistently that the Guard should not be here. It is unsafe for both members of the Guard and communities.

Our deepest condolences go to the two West Virginia families who will now spend this season mourning the loss of loved ones who died while deployed unnecessarily.
NEW: The governor of West Virginia says that two members of the state National Guard shot today in DC have died.

Talked to some National Guard kids from West Virginia on the street near my office. They don't have leave to go home for Thanksgiving this week.

They can't see their families, because the president wants to use them as political props. No doubt, though, there'll be a feast at Mar-a-Lago Thursday.

Scores of community members confronted federal goons and St. Paul police for hours Tuesday morning as federal agents arrested at least one person at a home in St. Paul's Payne-Phalen neighborhood. At least three protestors, one of whom was injured by law enforcement officers, were also detained.

I think the learning curve will pick up in the coming year, but the way you make Trump pay for empty chair diplomacy is to move forward on things the empty chair make possible.

And soon you realize that, for all the preponderant power the US wields, there's still a lot you can move forward on.

This Day in Labor History: November 22, 1909. Approximately 20,000 garment workers in New York City went on strike against the horrendous conditions of their sweatshops. This strike, known as the Uprising of the 20,000, was the largest strike led by women in American history to that time!!!

2028 will be the 60th anniversary of this 👇 Democratic Party convention.

It was the scene of protests against the Viet Nam war and violence that was mostly perpetrated by the police.

In the 1980s certain Party "leaders" began using this as one of several excuses to drive the party to the right. 🧵

The 1968 Democratic National Convention, held in Chicago, was the site of much protesting and violence. (The violence was mostly perpetrated by the police.)

This story is begging for more attention
Yesterday, Trump defended the Saudi Crown Prince in the Oval Office.

He said he had “nothing” to do with the murder of Jamal Khashoggi.

But I reviewed a call while serving on Trump’s NSC that I believe would be of interest to the Khashoggi family and the American people.

Release the transcript.
