Again @flamboroughbird.bsky.social triumph with todays #Migweek ringing session. Perhaps the 5th year we have returned, at my eldests request (which alone speaks volumes).
Huge thanks to everyone involved. Seeing all ages & levels of interest genuinely engaged is heatwarming.
Ringed under licence.
Tree Sparrow (Passer Montanus) I'm going to call this a Lesser Redpoll and leave it at that.

Yesterday, IUCN declared the Slender-billed Curlew to be extinct.
How did we let this happen?
What lessons are there for the future?

This weekend is the October Core Count! Did you know that with WeBS beginning as the National Wildlife Counts, we are continuing a tradition of counting that began in 1947! Learn more about our history here▶️https://www.bto.org/get-involved/volunteer/projects/wetland-bird-survey/about/history-webs
A male Pochard is floating on still water, facing forward. Above is the heading 'October WeBS Core Count Sunday 12th' and below is the WeBS logo and the web address 'www.bto.org/webs'.

So @teamlabouruk.bsky.social your illustrious leader "hates tree huggers" and Rachel Reeves considers pretty much everything else important before the environment. Nothing to see here.

The face of a man who just hobbled 1.8 painful kilometres for MAP as part of the 'Stride For Gaza' campaign.

It's my first attempt at running since slipping a disc last year.

If you can spare a little hard-earned then the l1nk is medicalaidforpalestinians.enthuse.com/pf/joe-solo

Thanks everyone x

First of all, 5mm isn't microscopic and you CAN see them.

Second of all, the fact that our Chancellor thinks she can't see these seems to mean she thinks they're not worthy of our consideration.

A hallmark of this government's terminal lack of imagination.

👀📺This Sunday on BBC 1 Hamza’s Hidden Wild Isles series is starting, looking at some of the more hidden, elusive & hard to see wildlife - it was a pleasure working with Hamza & the crew earlier in the year to capture footage of some of the more elusive species present in the #LDV.
