There are groups that forbid the 'practice' of Halloween for their children bc it is believed to be evil: the defiance with whimsy, singing, and costumes in Portland frightens those who are threatened by goodness - they need children's birthday parties as a mechanism to transcend The Dark Side.

"Rafa" is a Merced county farm worker. He does 2 shifts in 2 different jobs as rent is so expensive. He harvests tomatoes in the am. Then he sorts sweet potatoes under a hot sun - working 13 hours total. He worries about driving home because of lack of sleep. #WeFeedYou
