Millennial, San Diegan, Congresswoman, policy wonk. Loves talking foreign policy, child care, and where to find the best taco in San Diego.
This “deal” to fund the government does NOTHING to keep millions of Americans’ health care premiums from skyrocketing. This failure to act from both the Senate and House Republicans will have serious consequences for our community.

I’m voting NO.
House set to vote on ending government shutdown
The House will be in session on Wednesday for the first time in 54 days, with all eyes on a vote to end the longest government shutdown in U.S. history.

I always say that it will take all of us to build a democracy that works and we just took a big step forward thanks to millions of California voters.

THANK YOU for voting yes on Prop 50 so we can hold Donald Trump accountable and level the playing field. We won’t let you down.

Amazing win by @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social tonight. He showed up every day as his authentic self and brought everything back to his core message of affordability. Looking forward to seeing what Democrats learn from his campaign and his leadership in NYC!

Congratulations to my colleagues past and present @spanbergerforva.bsky.social and @mikiesherrill.bsky.social on their resounding victories! The story of tonight is that voters want us to relentlessly focus on affordability. Can’t wait to see everything that you deliver for your states!

Today is the day!! It’s Election Day in California.

Your ballot should have arrived in the mail. If you still have it, get it turned in today! If you already have, thanks for doing your part.

Good morning! What a great day to vote YES on Prop 50.
November 4, 2025 at 2:44 PM
A few quick questions:
Have you voted yet? Has your ballot been received?

If not, do you have a plan to vote? Where is your polling place? Can you get your ballot mailed (and postmarked) by Nov. 4?

If you're stumped on any of those, visit: voterstatus.sos.ca.gov

TOMORROW is Election Day here in California! Vote YES on Prop 50 to put a real check on Trump’s power and protect our democracy. Don’t sit this one out.

I’m so proud to be part of this new generation of leaders fighting to lower costs on everything from egg-freezing and IVF to child care and housing. We need a bold vision that delivers real solutions and we need leaders who will meet this moment.

Donald Trump’s DOJ reeks of bias. He replaced lawyers with loyalists. He made DOJ push and drop investigations. He pressured DOJ to go after his critics. “Election monitoring” of Prop 50 — that has the explicit goal to check Trump’s power — isn’t well-intentioned; it’s a threat.
EXCLUSIVE: MeidasTouch has learned President Trump plans to send Deputy AG Michael Gates to Southern California to “monitor” the Prop 50 election — a move experts call deeply problematic given Gates’ political ties in Orange County. meidasnews.com/news/donald-...

Texas, Missouri, North Carolina, and Ohio have all changed their maps to benefit Trump in the midterms. Now California MUST do the same to level the playing field.

That’s why it was so great to have @gavinnewsom.bsky.social in San Diego to motivate everyone to vote YES on Prop 50 by Nov. 4.

If you’re sifting through your kids leftover Halloween candy and have no idea what’s actually in it, I have good news! I introduced the No Tricks on Treats Act to label dyes, flavorings, and sweeteners in food so you can easily understand what’s in it.

People in my district need health care.
People in my district need child care.
People in my district need CalFresh to feed their families.
People in my district need to get paid.

House Republicans need to come back to DC and work with us to end the shutdown.

Already voted YES on Prop 50 and turned in your ballot? Great! What about your friends? Your family? Your neighbors?

Prop 50 is our best chance to STOP Donald Trump, but it’s going to take all of us working together to make sure it passes. Spread the word.

Things are really hard right now. If you’re struggling to afford food, here are a few resources in San Diego:

sandiegofoodbank.org/

If you can afford to help, consider supporting organizations like these in our community.

In a few days, millions of people will lose their food assistance. 130 Head Start locations will close. Pregnant and postpartum women and children will lose their benefits.

And Donald Trump is focused on his gaudy ballroom.

6 DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY!

All you have to do is open up your ballot, fill in the YES bubble on Prop 50, and mail it back in (or drop it off)! No excuses.

SNAP (aka CalFresh) is a lifeline for millions of Americans and almost 400,000 San Diegans.

Republicans can and should end the government shutdown to fund SNAP, pay our troops, and protect health care. This shouldn’t be controversial.

Day 28 of the government shutdown and 7 more days until Election Day.

If you want a Congress that can actually govern, vote YES on Prop 50 by November 4.
October 28, 2025 at 7:25 PM
It’s day 22 of the Republican government shutdown. They have no real strategy to get us out of this, so they’re just lying instead. I call BS.
October 22, 2025 at 7:37 PM
I voted! Have you?

All California voters should have received their Prop 50 ballot in the mail. If you haven’t, track your ballot here: california.ballottrax.net/voter/

You must turn in your ballot by Nov. 4 at the latest! But the earlier, the better.

Congresswoman LaMonica McIver is being prosecuted by the Trump Administration for doing her job and providing oversight of an ICE facility in her district. This is part of a pattern of political intimidation and retribution — but we won’t back down.
