The choice not to use available emergency funds for SNAP is cruel and unacceptable, and I hope you will join me in calling for Federal support for this critical program, but meanwhile let’s do all we can to make sure people have access to food! Hunger Free Washington: hungerfreewa.org

As a Community, we have the ability to make sure none of us goes hungry. Please share this information and if you are in a position to donate to a food program, now is the time to do so. Emergency Food Network: efoodnet.org/find-food

SNAP benefits will be halted as of November 1st, due to the Federal Government shutdown. Here is a list of local organizations who are ramping up to serve the thousands of additional people in need of food.

We will add resources in the comments as we find them: foodlifeline.org/find-food

The endorsement and support of so many members of our community means the world to me. Thank you!
We can't win this election without reminding people to get their ballots in. Talk to members of our community about the importance of using their voices and their votes to help us build a better Burien for everyone!

You can help us make it across the finish line!
Don't forget to register for tomorrow's canvass with Team Jayapal!! I hope to see you there! www.mobilize.us/pramilaforco...

Okay! I voted for @hugo4burien.bsky.social @sarah4burien.bsky.social @electrocco.bsky.social and Sam Mendez today! They are all great candidates who are serious about making Burien a better place to live, with better services! Let’s get this progressive majority!
I even picked up some library books at the same time
Thank you @fusewashington.org for this write up in the Progressive Voters Guide! I encourage everyone to consider their recommendations as you're filling out your ballots & don't forget to vote early if using USPS (or use one of the ballot drop boxes!) progressivevotersguide.com/.../general/...

Most folks know how passionate I am about street safety, housing, and transit. So it will come as no surprise how thrilled I am to have the endorsement of so many transportation organizations. Thank you so much for the support @theurbanist.org @seattletru.bsky.social, WA Bikes and Transportation4WA!
DO YOU HAVE A PLAN?
What’s your voting plan? Burien elections come down to a small number of votes each time we elect city council members, and turn out tends to be low. You can help us come in strong by sharing your plan and talking to your friends and neighbors about making a plan to vote.
You can find out what’s on your ballot by entering your information at this link where you can also sign up to track your ballot - and be notified when it’s mailed and again when KC Elections receives it back: info.kingcounty.gov/.../myvoteri...

If you go downtown for Boo In Burien, bring your completed ballot and drop it off in the drop box by the library. What better way is there to share the importance of voting with your kids?!
If it’s Halloween it’s time to get your ballot in! If I find I’m too busy when ballots arrive, the little gap between Halloween and election Tuesday is a perfect time to fill out and drop off my ballot - ideally on or right after Halloween.
For me, that plan is already made! I always use the drop box, usually the one by my home in Boulevard Park in front of the library. I love the satisfaction of dropping it in and knowing it’s on the way to being counted!
Planning includes deciding whether to return your ballot to a drop box or by mail. kingcounty.gov/en/dept/elec... If you will use a drop box, which one?
