All of my new music releases and YouTube sneak peeks will be announced here. Follow this account for updates.
Just submitted "Electrum Malleus" for distribution. This will include instrumentals. The Bandcamp release didn't have them because that made it exceed the 74 minute limit. But I don't press CDs so it doesn't matter anymore. Folks who still burn 'em will still see that the main tracks still fit.

Prepping for live performance. It will be a while before I am prepared for messing about in realtime, but it's something I've wanted to do with my music for many years.
Grotesque stems on board.

I'm cooking up a couple more tracks, hoping to release them as singles as well later this year. I don't know that I'm going to continue the album format anymore, as it's just going to cause me to hold on to tracks forever.

Of course I had to play a @sanxion7.com song to celebrate.

I could only play StepmaniaX at conventions, so I don't have much practice :3c

It is #bandcampfriday today - Bandcamp's revenue share (15%) is given back to the artist.

Today's the day to check back on your wishlist and also share your favorite albums!

Grotesque (Gargoyle II) is released with two different mixes: "rhythm game mix" and "extended mix". Instrumentals and vocals are Bandcamp-only goodies if you get it there. Available free at the Bandcamp site.

The Bandcamp release of "Grotesque" will have some extra goodies, and will be available sooner than other platforms. I'm aiming for tonight or tomorrow for release! I'll post links when it's live.
Finally putting together the release of "Grotesque" tonight, which will feature the "game mix" which is what is on YouTube right now, and an "extended mix" that adds another minute and a half, making the track a bit less rushed.

Writing within constraints (like an older piece of MIDI hardware) is a lot of fun, I think I'll do these more often.

It's not "official" music, just sometimes I get that DTM module itch.
Spent a bit of time on the Roland SC-8850 tonight, some good patches in here

Bsky was having trouble with this upload (so it's on YouTube) but I wanted to share another thing I've been workshopping the last couple weeks:

A lot going on behind the scenes for this game idea. Much of this may find the cutting room floor.
Always liked the sound of the SC-55 harpsichord. I played around for a minute with a motif from Heroes On Time (which is still a work in progress)

This might lead to saving other projects, we shall see...
"Sk_avenger" is saved! ...mostly. There are two samples missing, but otherwise things are intact. I am running FL Studio 11 (probably what I would consider the last "legacy" version) through Wine and it works *okay*. Plugin windows don't draw correctly. Resaving in v11 makes them work well on v2024.

I had an idea to make the first repetition of a phrase just one semitone shifted from an earlier occurrence. Cooked a bit yesterday, and this is what I came up with.

I was already kinda done with SoundCloud; I have vented frustrations with the site on my personal account before. Starting today my music will not be available from that site. I am working on an alternative method of sharing music scraps and other works in progress.

You can expect this to get some use in projects on the horizon. Really neat piece of gear.
This arrived today. Holy moly, I can't remember there ever being a time like this where I instantly flowed with a MIDI controller. I think we're going to get along. This is the Intuitive Instruments Exquis.

It's not album release news, but not every moment needs to be about the next project. :)
Some brief sound design experimentation with a free plugin called Vital tonight. Now, it's way past bedtime.

(up too late already but you don't always get to schedule inspiration for the afternoon)
I get asked about a fresh coat of paint on Gargoyle every now and again. So tonight I thought I might play around with different arrangements - this short song slice is more moody #wip

Work machine operational again. We are cooking on an M4 Max based Apple Studio now. These are incredible machines for low latency music construction.

We released this charity album!

Been working out a script for a video essay that goes through the process of writing a track. There are many of these out there, but given that we all do it quite differently I think it is worth making, still.

Bandcamp lets us keep 85% of revenue. That is the best rate of anybody out there. Over a period of about 15 years, I have taken home ~$3000. Every album is "pay what you want", so you all rock.

If you bought an album for $5 then you gave me more than streaming the whole album ~300 times.

I do like working with other independent musicians (particularly queer/adjacent!) and I'd be happy to collab some more this year.
