New preprint of a series of studies that surprised us(!) We report six studies investigating SNARC effects for non-symbolic representations of quantity. Contrary to our previous findings, we find SNARC effects for colour decision to non-symbolic quantities osf.io/preprints/ps...

Lochnagar from Tarland Trails today. The trails are great but the climb up did make me wish my budget stretched to an e-bike...

I don't understand why this hasn't been bigger news over the past few days.
If you've got any tips on mending jeans when they get that rip in the crotch, let me know!
Probably not as often as I should!
If I wear out clothes I really like I quite often buy exactly the same thing again on Vinted!
Tiso is my favourite. Although Vinted can be quite good for outdoor gear.

Blast from the past in the campus Blackwell's!
Choose your own adventure book "Space and Beyond".
The best description of external examining work I've ever seen.
Exam board prep today, and as usual it's one part academic judgement to three parts "The oodlified scripts have been uploaded to a password-protected polycule on FlipWangle. If you haven't set up 5FA on your uniSnork account you can simply repuffer via Blarg. The helpdesk will reopen on Wednesday."
Urgh. And presumably now your paper is part of the training set for whatever Gen AI they used...
Really liked Andor, even if it massively overestimated my ability to remember who everyone was (closes 15 wookieepedia tabs).

You just saved me a lot of googling 😂
Oh - and he loved the Wild Robot series! There's also these "League of Thieves" books that involve rolling dice and making decisions (turn to page 64 if you choose the left door, etc).
I loved the Lloyd Alexander Chronicles of Prydain books as a kid. Also The Neverending Story, Wizard of Earthsea, The Dark is Rising series, and anything by Rosemary Sutcliffe. My son loved The City of Ember. If she likes graphic novels, he also loved the Amulet series.

The snow has been annoying this week, but also pretty.
Noodle horse poses in coat in the snowy woods.
