Private rent in UK now swallows 44% of the average wage.

Monthly cost jumps to record £1,385 outside London, £2,736 in the capital.

Lack of social and affordable housing, no rent controls, as govts appease corporations and the rich.

Profiteering creating poverty/despair, stifling economic growth.

Some custom rhino modelling for my death guard today, lots of eyes and tentacles and teeth
I really struggle with any kind of subscription payment, but this is one I'll make an exception for.
Tomorrow I'll be on Laura Kuenssberg.

Will I be able to say "I can announce the Green Party have just overtaken the Tories in members!"?

It's tantalisingly close to happening!

It's not fun, but I've been so massively bummed out over the last few weeks, and it's not really even anything I can properly talk about or know how to handle. but here's me lightening the sad posting with my new tiny camera, because that's nice.

Hope is returning. 💚🚀

This would be life changing
Damn. This is amazing. £325 per week, paid monthly, for 3 years - and the result was a profit for the Irish economy:

Good. This is an important victory.

It's a stain on our democracy for Michelle Mone to remain in the House of Lords. But it's even more important that the Tory ministers who set up the corrupt PPE VIP lane in the first place are properly and fully held to account for the scandal

David Cross saying to the Riyadh comedians "you complained about cancel culture then signed with a regime that has actual slaves" is a killer condemnation that you couldn't possibly get out from under
Watching Twin Peaks and man do they just not make them like they used to, so much sincerity and humour in between the serious and the strange. David Lynch was truly the best of us
Thank you! Luckily this now firmly falls under the landlords problem, so it won't be our money but fingers crossed its fast 😅
Today on flat problems, Rach went to use the bath for the first time and the seal broke on the hot tap so its stuck on. Managed to get behind the bath and the isolator the tap is also broken, so had to turn the stop cock off... which also happens to turn upstairs water off 😭
On a brighter note I cut a massive piece of MDF and put removable dowels in to it so I could make a packable table topper to play warhammer on in the new flat and im very excited
Lmao currys customer service number hung up on me when I mentioned the consumer rights act when asking for a repair on a monitor I bought ~9 months ago that has dead pixels
Nice hearing from you in the call just now too!
"How's the new flat?" Not bad thanks just getting rid of the mold sorting the plumbing and a mouse just ran out of my toaster thanks
Man moving in is tiring, it seems to be never ending

I don't get how people don't realize that a technology that replaces junior and entry level positions in a field destroys that field.

There's no skipping steps. You have to be a junior before you can be a senior, and if you don't have senior people, you don't have a field.
Remember, kids: A real big goal of "AI" is to entirely sever capital from labor, and no, there will be no universal basic income, you can all just starve and die, thanks

AI is already taking jobs away from entry-level workers
Software and customer service are most at risk right now and could be the canary in the coal mine.

Something fun about packing all the stuff you own and seeing your own growth reflected in that
The way we've allowed news to become entertainment has let people's opinions become facts.
Big actors too! Are you telling me that runner doesn't earn enough to eat properly but that celebrity actor needs over a million?
Infinite government money for snake oil tech bros but ask to raise a child out of poverty and you're banned from the labour party. Disgustingly openly corrupt government but I'd expect nothing less from starmer
