At a church in West Eugene, a group of Hispanic preteens and teens from the dance group, Ballet Folklorico Colibri, are practicing their dance moves. In Eugene, this traditional Mexican folk dance is helping many Latine kids connect with their culture.

Photographer Melissa Nolledo does photoshoots with immigrant families and shares them through her ongoing project called "Our Stories: Immigrants of America.” According to her, the project aims to share stories of immigrants as a way to show their humanity and to connect people beyond their labels.

In the ‘80s and ‘90s, LGBTQ periodicals and magazines provided some of the first publishing opportunities for gay and lesbian writers. They were one of the few windows into a community that was often overlooked by mainstream media, including in Eugene.
