Trump found another $20 BILLION to give to Argentina, totaling their bailout to $40 BILLION.

Yet we can’t afford to prevent millions of Americans from losing their healthcare.

Shame.

It’s time to abandon the idea of chasing after “swing voters.”

We gotta start targeting the angry. Those who have been failed by the system. Those who are being screwed every day despite giving it their all.

At this point, between this garbage, the Argentina stuff and American Flag Swatstika guy (plus don’t forget ICE) I can say that I am worried that we’re only at the beginning of how awful this is going to get

Trump is upfront in saying he will use the shutdown to punish Democrats, and here are the receipts. About $27.2 billion cut from Dem districts compared to about $0.7 billion in GOP districts.
We all complain about the media, but need this type of in-depth journalism.

Long story short, an actual Nazi doxxing ring. Enough people reported them that they went away for like 12 hours and then Elon personally brought them back. The site is dead. If you’re still on there, go lock your account right now

Important update: the Sprouts Market near me has cinnamon pecans in bulk that taste like Cinnamon Toast Crunch and they're gonna need to back a truck up to my house and dump about 2 tons of it or I'm gonna get real cranky

Aside from losing many Democratic seats, Black representation in Congress will probably drop from around 14% of seats (nationally representative) to maybe 7 or 8% (not representative)?

The only rally in DC that erupted into chaos and violence in my [40+ yr] memory was the one that took place on January 6, 2001

Johnson: "We call it the Hate America Rally that will happen Saturday. Let's see who shows up for that. I bet you you'll see Hamas supporters, I bet you'll see antifa types, I bet you'll see Marxists on full display, people who don't want to stand and defend the foundational truths of this republic"

I really think we’re feeling the full force of the pent up racist rage of 8 years of Obama + DEI + MeToo + Biden. That is to say, Trump 2.0 has fully opened the door to what I hoped had disappeared. Unfortunately it just got worse

What is the need for teargas anyway, other than these fascists signing up just to throw teargas canisters at brown people.

Stats quiz! There are 4967 questions covering the data collection period from 1877 to the present day. Let's get started!

Q1: What's wrong with this graph 🤔

For context, these are 10 patients with spinal cord injury tested before & after transcutaneous spinal cord stimulation (TSCS)

This sucks too, because these are great data sources for teaching as well as research. So not only did this kneecap the surveillance mechanism for health, it’s also going to have trickle down effects for the next generation of public health professionals

Yes! Coding is thinking. My new rule of thumb: Use a LLM only to write code to do things that either are low priority or that I don’t have time to do and wouldn’t have done without LLM (while assuming the generated code is only 80% right).

I don’t know who needs to hear this but the CDC is being eviscerated right now. America is not going to have any kind of outbreak response capacity after tonight. Americans’ health data is no longer secure. Say goodbye to federal public health in any capacity. It’s a disaster. We won’t recover.

A large swath of scientists barely understand p-values. Throw information theory in there along with base-2 logarithms and it seems like it’s going to take a lot. (FWIW, I like the S-value)
rwhass.bsky.social
Agreed. Plus it seems that RFKjr grasps none of this, nor does he want to. As an aside, it is interesting and also terrifying watching a lawyer who “interpreted” scientific evidence for $$ now have to actually do it
rwhass.bsky.social
Agreed. It sounds as if they’re going to drum up some evidence via pseudoscience. He also thinks like a lawyer, and such a statement seems pretty ordinary for legal means, but is tricky in this case because you cannot do the tortoise thing here (because it’s not ethical to conduct an RCT)
