Their stories ended on the battlefields of WW1, but they won’t be forgotten. This weekend, I share the final tale from my Western Front research. Stay tuned! #Blog #WW1 #Genealogy #FamilyHistory
Always wondered why this was the case. Male ego?
A few weeks ago, I posted about the resurgence of old-timey first names. This article is 3 years old, but talks about another naming phenomenon - women naming their daughters after themselves. #genealogy (gift link)

The Women Naming Their Babies After Themselves
Female “Juniors” are rare. But for certain mothers, passing down their name is a no brainer.

I enjoyed visiting a few during my trip to England in 2024.
What a rich history. I’m in the west of Canada. Most of our pubs are less than 50 yrs. old…
Haven’t used this feature…looks worthwhile though!
I see Ancestry are readying a 2025 update to their Ancestral Origins report. This will include new "Macro-regions"

Personally, I prefer the Places feature at dnapainter.com. If you can research your ancestors back a "reasonable number" of generations it gives you a much better feel (Caveats apply!)
You’ve opened my eyes. I’m going to pick up some tests on the way home.
Definitely an artist whose work I want to know better…
an important thing about Kate Bush as an artist and maybe the reason she is my favorite musical artist is that at no point is she ever trying to look cool. nothing she does is informed by the need to look cool. and sure, people have over time decided she is cool - but that never motivates her music.
Yikes…figured we had a regular cold running through the family.
Hello Marian - thank you very much! I believe I corrected my error and you should be able to read now. I appreciate it!

Yes, some of my family seemed to go back and forth regularly.
