Imagine owning up to your game actually saying something about the real world. The nerve!
It might be a way to ward off any future issues with platform policies, but it just looks so weak.
Now, if only Ubisoft leadership had a shred of humanity...
S-rank connoisseur posting.
When the carpet matches the drapes; dog edition.
A furry, gold, white, and grey dog stretches on a patterned carpet with a similar color scheme of orange, white, and greyish blue.
Mr. Onion, you can be the one to bring capes back.
I think it's even worse than that, as it's not even fully his own sadism, it's what he expects the algorithm to want to put out to his audience. It's a nihilistic projection of the sadism of the attention economy. Vacuous and cruel.
I was going to say it sounded like a little car twisting around an also little racetrack, but Excitebike is so much closer.
I love PTA films, but Licorice Pizza is one that I bounced off of. The way it played the main 'romance' plot as something, well, romantic ticked me off. I know genderswapping arguments suck, but the movie would've creeped out a lot more people the other way around. Fully agree on plot looseness too!

We are very proud that the keynote will be held by current ICA Game Studies Chair Ruud S. Jacobs @ruudxiv.bsky.social: “Uncharted or The Last of Us? Interrogating the Unrealized Potential of Serious Games.”

Hope to see you all in Palma!
"All Nevernudes Go To Hell", the Bluth movie sequel everyone saw coming.
Sounds like a great time! How kuch time do you devote to co-playing a game like RotOD? I've found that hard to gauge in the past.

If you like culture crit, backrooms, liminal spaces, and horror… this is up your alley!
it’s a wonderful collection of essays on the topic.

In a beautiful merger of Dead Internet with people's intense love of quoting famous authors, today's image search turned up this wonderfully juxtaposed gem.
A quote from George Orwell's 1948 book, 1984. It reads "If you want a vision of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face -- forever." The quote is superimposed on an inspiring landscape image of a pier on a still lake with calm mountains in the background.
This sounds like a great collection. Looking forward to getting this in!
Another warrior! Come to test yer mettle? When yer out there, rootin' about in once great Boletaria, spare a thought for world tendency. Dyin' as a phantom is fine. When you die in human form, though... Well, it's enough to make the world weep! *wheezing laughter that goes on a bit too long*
Imagine the amount of blue shells circling billionaires' mansions all hours of the day if that were true.
Recently found out this is not something we can opt out of for any of the major publishers.

The thing is, I know them doing this will not make my future work less valuable, but I also know people in positions of power in academia will think it does.
Journal publishers *are* bundling your papers up in "data licensing agreements" for big tech companies to use for AI model training. Our publisher, T&F, got £75m from Microsoft for that last year alone.
A group of PS4s should be called a staircase.
