1. Consistency. It will get easier with time. 2. Fueling! I'm a morning runner, and for years, I wouldn't eat before going out for a run. A small snack before a run makes such a big difference! And if you're running for more than 60 minutes, be sure to fuel during. Welcome to running!!
Will you be at the Chicago Marathon? I asked six runners, including several who live in Chicago, for their advice for runners and spectators. They had so much to share! running-lifestyle.com/race-guides/...

Who we connect with and find motivation from is different for each of us, but you'll likely find a runner in this group you can relate to. Each shared their running background and motivations for training for their first marathon! runninglifestyle.substack.com/p/7-runners-...

To the runners out there,

No matter who we are or where we are, we have this in common: We're all runners.

It’s something we can relate to, form bonds over, and celebrate together.

And that’s a pretty beautiful thing. 🫶🏻

Happy Global Running Day!

Nine years ago today, I married a runner.

We met at a run club and ran a race on our honeymoon. Over the years, we've hosted a run club, trained and raced together, and cheered each other on from the sidelines.

Best decision ever.
Loved chatting with these runners about why they developed a pepper spray device for women by women! Read the Q&A here: bit.ly/4dlwNda

Is it standard for runners to overpack for every trip? I'm going out of town for 5 days. I don't even know if I'll be able to get out for a run, but I'm bringing three running outfits for every weather scenario over the 5 days ... just in case. #runninglifestyle #running #runners
Do you prefer morning, lunchtime, or evening runs?

During winter, I transition to lunchtime running, but it's not my favorite. Finally this week, it's light enough in the morning and the weather is getting warmer. Morning runs are back, and I'm loving it! 😎 #runners #running #runninglifestyle
Love this. I feel most in touch with myself while running. Probably why I keep doing it.
Are you thinking about starting a run club? My interview with Will, founder of A Tribe Called Run in Baltimore, quickly became a masterclass on how to build an authentic, inclusive running community. So much great advice packed in this Q&A! bit.ly/447iq9B #runners #running #runclub #runninglifestyle

It's OK to have a bad day.
It's OK to have a bad run.
It's OK when things don't go according to plan.

We are imperfect, which is perfectly human.

Sit in it. Learn from it. Move on.

Wrote this for me today. Sharing it in case someone else needs to hear it, too.
