The art and skills for delivering software in much more smaller incremental steps were lost with the global adoption of Pull Requests.

Damn, the folks at @elixir-munich.org never cease to impress me. It's just a bunch of niche and knowledgeable people that I wish I could work with every day!

Does anyone here know which books one should read to get *really* good with #Postgres?

Focusing on the Rust Unwrap in the CloudFlare outage is really the scalability equivalent of "When a sage points to the moon, all the fool sees is the finger".

At that scale, failures *will* happen. Programming error are unavoidable. What's interesting is why it took down the entire system.

No, hiring isn't hard for #OCaml. The Blub paradox is real. I have 30 resumes in my Inbox. The hard part is saying no.

Did you know that according to ISO 27001, 8.28 Secure coding, pair programming, refactoring, and test-driven development are considered to be secure coding practices?
Next time someone ask, shh, just let it happen!

This is great stuff!

Zod is one the first things I install on a #TypeScript project, and I missed it soo much on #Elixir! Not anymore!

📣 Germany's close to reversing its opposition to mass surveillance & private message scanning, & backing the Chat Control bill. This could end private comms-& Signal-in the EU.

Time's short and they're counting on obscurity: please let German politicians know how horrifying their reversal would be.
We are alarmed by reports that Germany is on the verge of a catastrophic about-face, reversing its longstanding and principled opposition to the EU’s Chat Control proposal which, if passed, could spell the end of the right to privacy in Europe. signal.org/blog/pdfs/ge...

Since BYOC solves the data residency concerns that come up with EU companies, I am planning to experiment with it next week.

Coming from AWS Serverless (Rust/TypeScript) and Elixir/OTP, I'm curious how Unison's approach to distributed computing feels in practice.

More to come :)

So, #LinkedIn on mobile browser is now basically forcing me to get their app to "get the most out of it" when trying to open the feed.

Instead I'm questioning how much I want to be there in the first place... It's a good reminder to use it less and less!

every time i do something web-dev related it becomes harder to believe that this is the largest programming ecosystem in the world

If you have a resting meetup covered with a bit of dust. This is the moment to brush it off and see if the speakers still work. The Elixir community is doing a big ol' global meetup.

That is, we all run local meetups around the same time causing global vibrations to be more Elixir-shaped. Mmkay?
So.. which GEM are you joining? 💎
