Today I was awakened by people doing roadwork outside my house at exactly 7 AM. It really reminded me of how much society hates night owls and shift workers. I'm always quiet, but if I were to start doing loud work at 2 AM I'd get a pretty big fine for waking people up.

All this AI stuff has really highlighted one sad thing for me: a lot of people seem to view art (and stories) just as content to be consumed, with no emotion except the dopamine rush of looking at something pretty and colorful.

They're really missing out.

If you know Javascript, you can do a cool trick this Halloween to scare programmers. Just lean in and whisper "there are no static types" and follow it up with "both an empty string and an empty array equal false". They'll be pouring treats into your terrifying mouth to silence you.
