If you read this, I think you'll understand how universality plus taxes is better than targeting. We can test two people and give one $50 or we can give two people $50 without any tests and tax one of them more than $50. No test on the front end means it actually reaches far more in need.

Everyone needs to understand how the overly complicated, circuitous, and mostly inefficient welfare systems consume far more money than if they just gave everyone Universal Basic Income. So much needless administration, so little actual help for the poor. #UBI
