So he got a biopsy of my current cartilage and is growing more from that and I "get" to go back in for round two to fill it in with my actual cartilage (instead of the synthetic cartilage that we were planning to use) after I recover.

Turns out right after surgery, you don't remember what the doctor told you. Way less successful than I thought at the time.

There was an unexpected MCL tear that he had to repair. And the cartilage holes he was supposed to fill in were bigger than expected and couldn't be filled as planned.

I went to buy a mower from them and it was $100 more in the store than it was online. I had to get a manager to get them to honor THEIR OWN online price so I could take it home that day.

Not a Stitt fan at all, but he’s had a good couple of weeks. This plus (what seems to be) a good pick for State Superintendent.

We don't, there will be a new (and hopefully better) normal after this, that said, for the rest of our lives we'll have to be aware a non-trivial number of neighbors and fellows voted for actual fascism, and that's always going to be a bummer

How do we return to any semblance of normal after all this is said and done?

I agree with Josh but with one caveat: Words can demoralize people. I have political science-y disagreements with people who say "America is now fascist," but more to the point, I don't want people to internalize the idea that it's all done and dusted. Trump is far weaker than may people realize.

Fighting with each other whether the Trump administration is/is not fascist/totalitarian seems kind of pointless. Labels aside, it is not a fully consolidated dictatorshp, whatever we want to call it and we need to work together to get them out.

Statement from Illinois Governor JB Pritzker
This evening, President Trump is ordering 400 members of the Texas National Guard for deployments to Illinois, Oregon, and other locations within the United States. No officials from the federal government called me directly to discuss or coordinate.
We must now start calling this what it is: Trump's Invasion. It started with federal agents, it will soon include deploying federalized members of the Illinois National Guard against our wishes, and it will now involve sending in another state's military troops.
I call on Governor Abbott to immediately withdraw any support for this decision and refuse to coordinate. There is no reason a President should send military troops into a sovereign state without their knowledge, consent, or cooperation.
The brave men and women who serve in our national guards must not be used as political props. This is a moment where every American must speak up and help stop this madness.

As much as I hate this administration, seconded. The industry has been struggling for years now.

Kinda wild Apple will kick ICEBlock out of the App Store on safety grounds but the Saudi government app that lets men track women (their “property”) and control their travel is fully allowed even after the Human Rights Watch AND members of the Senate begged them to ban it.

Disagree - I think National Parks are one of the few avenues for the average American to see and experience the tangible effects of a government shutdown. And people care more about things that affect them. So let them be affected and outraged at their dysfunctional government.

🚫🌲 Shutdowns put our national parks at risk. I urge the Administration to keep them open so everyone can enjoy them. Colorado is ready to step up. Let’s protect our parks—not play politics. #ProtectOurParks
