As part of my ongoing quest to make a poem out of my coworker's story about her dog being haunted, the third version has now become a Shakespearean sonnet. And I still don't think I've found the right/final form of this.

This weekend I completed the final line of the longest single poem I've ever written. Now the question is, as an anthology contributor, where can I submit a 5000+ word gothic seaside horror poem in iambic heptameter? The one I planned on has added a "no poetry" rule (they saw me coming). #authors

328 lines in on this poem and I'm still not done. And I've already got a whole extra page of edits I'm planning on going back to work in once it's done. Kind of ironic how big the poem is compared to how small the painting was that started this.

It's better for my sanity to just remember that there is nothing I can say that will somehow do for someone's political opinion what an entire world of actual events has so far failed to do.

I'm now at 216 lines and in the home stretch of my next big spooky poem. I've kicked the idea around for about a year, made this little painting on Halloween that helped push me to start it, and have been piecing it together a little at a time ever since. I hope I can find a home for it!
