Great that Casey has extended. But he’s by distance Munster’s first choice and by a distance Ireland’s second choice (and 7 years younger than the incumbent). He has captained both teams. What are central contracts for?

Toulouse; quite good at rugby. More as we get it…

If Munster weren’t quite bad in that half it would’ve been pretty good

Real jeopardy for Ireland here. To keep the hot hot streak of losing knockouts at RWC they’ll have to lose to Scotland for the first time in 10,000 years (then get pumped by France) or lose to Georgia. I believe it can be done though

My man, everybody thinks you are too nice.

I know this is just internal, self-motivational stuff but even the way he says Leinster are hated is kinda…mild

That’s a frustrating one. Stormers stacked their bench and got the reward. But you can’t go the whole second half without scoring a point

More of a sad beat down than a fun beat down

Leinster having a player called Cahir is cultural appropriation

Really interesting point made on BBC rugby podcast this week that, on top of ongoing issues, Ireland’s summer tests weren’t very useful. Big chunk of the squad weren’t there, big chunk of the coaches weren’t there, facile games

A movie that takes place where you’re from

If you look at the outhalf performances, I would say they were broadly similarly effective as each other in each game; not great against NZ, both very good against Aus, not great for SA. They are both vey much at the whims of what’s going on in front of them
#10 discourse is a sideshow. The pack needs huge work. Less "who would you drop" and more "who can we give a chance to".

Far from straightforward but about as good as could be hoped for. And how satisfying would it be to beat the Danes at home to qualify?

I only saw highlights during the Rugby Championship so don’t know just how good those Boks were. But Tadhg Beirne was player of the series on a winning Lions team

Best Irish performance since England earlier in the year (which is damning with faint praise a bit). Still feels a little muddled but won easing up
