In 2023, like many people, I participated in Dungeon 23. The end result was a massive, Metroidvania-inspired dungeon called The Castle Automatic.

Here are three techniques I am using to structure the information architecture:
-Room names and numbers
-Landmark/hidden/secret

#3157 A helpful tutorial
A digital drawing of one of those drawing tutorials that says 'don't do this, do this.' The drawing is of an almost naked middle-aged man doing a flying kick. The 'Don't do this' one has a bunch of areas circled and a cross under it. The 'Do this' one is exactly the same but without the circles and a tick instead of a cross. The text reads 'Needlessly adding red circles will ruin your art' and a smaller bit of text at the bottom reads 'Bonus tip! Add a tick under all your art so people think you did it right.'

Over the course of the month I drew a portrait or 2(hundred) in #over/under and called them 🩸HEADSHOTS🩸

For @samsorensen.bsky.social's #OVER/UNDER I created WEATHERVANE, an in-universe themed combat simulator. Using it, our faction was able to predict the outcome of any battle with a high degree of confidence. It helped us price mercenary contracts and go into any combat knowing the expected outcomes.

My local contact for the Canyonheavy Collective’s makerspace was one of it’s bosses, Beefstink[sic], a genial if neurotic guy with a three-day-old growth of mustache, a penchant for digital camoflage pattern bordering on obsession, and a sword. Quirky, flashy, manic, Beefstink, on this cold november noon, was taking me out to experience the heart of the hacker culture on Prospero’s dream, the place that swung politics heavily in the past few weekends on the station. In this case, it was a cramped cluttered space of art and assorted drug palettes, next to a massive data center about three blocks outside of the markets. It turned out prior to my arrival he’d invited the whole gang: the bosses, a representative of the local drug dealer group, a fish on legs, notables of every stripe. And an army of maids had been pressed into service to tidy what had presumably been an even bigger hurricane of cigarrette packets and half functioning equipment. Beefstink’s pal, whom he’d introduced as the head of infosec, forcefully insisted the camera crew and I join them in a few rounds of what they called ‘milk’ and ‘Gfuel for Dogs.’ One at a time, the CISO and I, were presented with a fifty-fifty mix of Gfuel and milk – apparently mixed with some kind of psychoactive stimulant. Both of us apparently no stranger to dropping one hit of acid too many at your 112th Grateful Dead concert, this was to continue until one team cried uncle or collapsed unconscious. John Waters says hacktivists have no look to that lifestyle other than bad posture. But clearly he’s never been to the CHC battlestations. When they’re taking down the government, they certainly have a look; that look may suck, but one can't deny old phreakers in chaps are one interesting looking group.
