There are a lot of aspiring pundits here that spend their time debating the boundaries of acceptable discourse. One side looks at voters and says "we're going to solve your problems by deporting these immigrants. It will make work pay more and housing cheaper"

The houhis aren't an existential threat. They are an annoyance to global trade. They shot at a few ships. We collapsed entire residential buildings to kill one guy. All in the name of making sure Europe has access to cheap crap from Amazon. US didn't even do this for it's own economic benefit.

@peterbakernyt.bsky.social I have a question. Is there a formal contract or MOU between the government and DOGE? One that spells out their duties, recordkeeping, and cybersecurity requirements. It seems that Elon is at least opening himself up to massive civil liability if he is firing employees.

I am hearing a lot about mass deportations, but I can't figure out how they started doing it in 4 days? I think it's more likely that the deportations you are hearing about now were started in the Biden administration. Trump is just using military planes now. I could be wrong

Two under-reported aspects of the 2024 political landscape. The vitriol in digital ads that aren't shown frequently. It's flying under the radar. Ads shown in rural areas on connected TV are just not being seen in large cities, but they are absolutely, wildly racist.

This immunity ruling might be the worst thing that could have happened to Trump. The election might stand as as a test of which candidate you want to give immunity from prosecution to. I can't imagine that's the guy recently convicted of a felony, credibly accused of raping E. Jean Carrol.
