This weekend of honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. left me energized. From parades and worship to art and community gatherings, one thing was clear everywhere I went: our community’s diversity is a strength. May we all aim to follow Dr. King's example of love and action.

Local leaders know their communities best on how to keep us safe, make housing affordable, and help families get by. When extremists fail working people, local government needs the tools to deliver real solutions. In the NC House, I will fight to make sure they do.

My heart is with the Jewish community after the antisemitic arson attack at Mississippi’s largest synagogue. Hate against one community threatens us all. We must stand together in solidarity with our Jewish neighbors and work to build a safer world for everyone.
