Out cleaning up Jayne’s stall. Removed her offerings, laid down some fresh bedding.

Jayne wanders in, looks at me as if to say: “Nice job. Great place…

After a cold night in her stall, Jayne’s a wee frisky when she gets out. (This was Tuesday around noon.)

The coffee’s cold.

A horse is not just a work animal and a wondrous companion. They also make great weather vanes. Here, Jayne is letting me know I’m at low risk for sunburn today.

The cats aren’t allowed on the leather couch. I didn’t see Halo sneak up.

Pic 3: I say “Fine” and walk away.

Man oh man. “Too Much, Too Soon”, the second album from The New York Dolls, is a ride!

Side quest!

Took a break from David Bowie to listen to the New York Dolls’ debut album. Had no idea what to expect.

I really liked it. “Pills” and “Jet Boy” were my faves.

I can see why they didn’t get much mainstream radio play, but they must have been wild in concert.

All the memes…

Find someone who loves you as much as Smidgen loves in-floor heating.

Smidgen and in-floor heating. Name a more iconic pair.

Etc., etc.

Walked into Starbucks for a quiet afternoon read. Packed. Not a free chair to be had. Within 90 seconds, three tables opened up.

My personality, for the win.

Next up in my David Bowie retrospective - The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars:

This might be the best album I’ve ever listened to. No exaggeration. Grabs hold with “Five Years” and doesn’t let go until the last note of “Rock ‘n’ Roll Suicide”.

Go listen to it.

Really cranking now in my David Bowie retrospective. Read about and listened to “Hunky Dory” today. Significant jump in production quality & listenability. Will definitely go back and listen to this one again.

“Changes” was the single that most would know. The rest were good, but not radio singlrs

So last night I asked ChatGPT - nothing!

I read a section in the David Bowie biography, listened to the album that matched the section, and had a lovely conversation about it with my wife.

Cranky, old, tech-hating me is going to be a fun time!

Winter diversion:

Reading a biography of David Bowie and listening to his albums along with the passage of time in the book.

That first album was quite something. Amazing how much 20 year old Bowie sounds like mid-career Bowie.

From listening to @alancross.bsky.social podcasts, David Bowie cut a pretty wide path through the world of music since the ‘60s. Seriously, he shows up everywhere! Time for some heavy reading.

Seriously, he died January 10, 2016. Wouldn’t be a stretch to say the world has fallen apart since.

I sold something on eBay this weekend to a guy in the USA. List price was $149 plus shipping. I pocketed about $127 after eBay fees. The buyer paid $244, after sales tax, shipping and tariffs.

This is nuts.
