Jill Whalen’s passing is the shittiest thing I’ve read all year. How awful. She was brilliant. Sharp, energetic, a real leader. When she set up HR forums, following her over was a no brainer. Life is very unfair. Maxatrillion, Don, Corie, and everyone who loved her, my deepest condolences to you all

There is value in showing that your efforts/advice helped surface the brand in “organic” or A.I. answers but let’s not forget the reality. The engines have drastically reduced organic traffic and there’s no one really calling them out. It’s just more chat about how to grab the crumbs from the pie.

I feel that the seo crowd are too willing to give Google a free pass to do what they like. Sure, it’s their engine and all that, but when they fuck people over and ruin them, after years of their content being fine, we should remind them periodically. It’s not business as usual. People matter.

So today is about taking it easy, kind of.
First up though it’s a 5k mud run up a big hill, across a plateau avoiding cows and sheep and then down again through woodland and the odd stream. I’m really too heavy for this lark but feel oddly compelled.
