Personal news. I’ve lost over 20 pounds since the summer. Turns out cutting out good food (not exactly) (and alcohol—mostly) is the trick.

We used the big green egg deflector plate and put the pie in a cast iron skillet and set that on the deflector plate. Worked well, and limited opportunity for spills. Cooked it at about 800 degrees. Each pie cooked for 8 minutes or so.

Wife made sourdough pizza crust. Took three days, but worth it. We also made fresh pesto, caramelized onions and peppers, and from scratch sauce. Had to buy the mozzarella — though I think that could be made at home? It was joyous!

It is pretty amazing when your local music hall (the Birchmere) is the host of a post apocalyptic Kennedy Center escape party by @pinkmartiniband.bsky.social . Amazing show! They remind us that we are all a part of a whole world of beauty and connection and joy.
